About Us

Why is this company called OMCF Consulting? The answer is that the owner, Ryan Colby, has a sense of humor, and a plan. Ryan named this company with the acronym from another venture, Old Man Colby Farms. It started out as homesteading, and turned into something more with the only upfront costs being his time and effort.

Burning the candle at both ends since being a teenager, Ryan worked in Retail Management to pay the bills while going to school for Paralegal Studies and Psychology, and working on side projects in advising local government on cost saving measures, real estate sales and property management, farming, and other financial and sociological endeavors. After those effort succeeded, he decided to slow down and moved into direct support for individuals with disabilities, with an attitude that everyone should first think of their dream, and then work their way back to make all of the steps to achieve it. During that time, he assisted clients in going from poor performers in high-school, with their actual education level being closer to 6th grade, and in 6 months become straight A college students. He helped clients in writing, marketing and publishing their writing, and a lot more, find their career and business goals instead of jobs. He found the untapped potential of thinking a different way, and discovered that this level of service was not the norm, and that needed to change. He realized that most of his clients would no longer need their current service, but actual business consultation. Client's had gone from being behind their peers to exceeding them. Ryan then worked with Vocational Rehabilitation of NH and found that using evidence based methods and new ideas, that it could take a fraction of the time to assist someone in their goals versus the industry norm, and that those clients would also not need government services again if everything was in place, but they would need business consultation to help with their long term plans, and that would no longer be available, because they succeeded. OMCF Consulting was born for this reason. Ryan created it to work with people when they started their path to financial independence, through Vocational Rehabilitation and other referral sources, and ensure that once clients succeeded and overcame their personal barriers, they had another place to go to overcome the barriers we all face in the world of business and success.
